At Nihar Jewels, the romance of rare discoveries meets a quietly modern point of view.

It is a simple idea, held to strictly. A piece begins as a drawing and ends as something a person will wear for a lifetime — and every decision in between, the cut of a stone, the weight of a setting, the way a clasp meets the skin, is answerable to that ending.

From the inaugural sketch to the final setting, every creation is meticulously realised within our ateliers, where exceptional savoir-faire, uncompromising artistry and nature's most exquisite treasures converge in enduring elegance.

The house is based in Rajasthan, India, and works to the exacting standards of the world's most discerning jewellery connoisseurs: a rich legacy of artistry, interpreted through a distinctly contemporary vision.

The Atelier

From the first
sketch.

Design begins on paper. A drawing is worked and reworked until the proportions settle, then translated into metal — modelled, set and finished under the same roof. Because the making never leaves our ateliers, a line can be softened or a setting lightened at the moment it matters, rather than negotiated across a supply chain.

Everything is crafted in 18K gold. The finishing is done by hand and judged by eye: the polish carried into the recesses, the underside of a setting considered as carefully as the face of it, because that is the part the wearer feels. A layered necklace is built strand by strand so it falls rather than sits; a hand harness is articulated so it moves with the hand and not against it.

The Stones

Rare natural diamonds are selected for exceptional fire, brilliance and enduring beauty. Coloured stones are read for depth and character before size — rubies for warmth, emeralds for the particular green that seems to hold light rather than return it, rose cuts for a softer, unhurried sparkle.

Extraordinary gemstones are authenticated for provenance and chosen for their remarkable quality. Matching is done stone by stone: in a floral cluster, every petal has to agree with its neighbours in tone and saturation, or the flower reads as an assembly rather than a bloom. Nothing is set until it has earned its place.
